EOOS have designed the BAO chair for german furniture manufacturer Walter Knoll.

Spacious and round. It’s the curves that make Bao appealing on first sight. A sumptuous sculpture with an artistic back. In the style of a leather ball, the leather patchwork forms the rear. Flowing lines – sweeping and elegant. The swivelling armchair combines the materials whilst keeping them distinct: leather on the back, fabric in the seat. Everything has its place. Bao – as familiar as a welcoming embrace.

Today i noticed i have to catch up on the Bathroom Inspiration posts this year as i skipped posting in this section for a few months.

Not only i stumbled into some interesting stuff regarding bathroom design today but i also thought it was time to bring some bathroom decorating ideas into the flashlight again.

The sink, toilet and bidet come in wall-mounted and floor-standing models, offering a clean aesthetic sans base or visible hardware, apart from the sleek, high-polished taps. Choose from glossy white, glossy black, stone and anthracite finishes. For its fashion and function, Le Giare is the epitome of the contemporary bathroom.

In order for us to remember the hot summer days i have decided to present you a design that will take us exactly back to the summer days when all we did was lay in the sun and enjoy cold showers or baths in a great blue pool.

This folding outdoor shower palm by Italian company Dometti rolls comfort, convenience, innovation and style, all into one. The PalmShower features a slim silhouette inspired by palm trees, with jets along its trunk and foliage – six leaves, which can be customized to your preferences of shower, misting system, or a combination of the two. When not in use, the leaves fold down to protect the structure in high winds and nasty weather. For the tech lovers out there, this shower is stacked! The controls are all embedded in the trunk for easy access, and an optional remote control lets you work its many functions using your iPhone or iPod Touch through Wi-Fi: open/close the leaves, turn on/off the water, set the LED chromatherapy lighting, and crank up the sound system – an MP3 player, radio-tuner, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth receiver, speakers, stereo amplifiers – all waterproof. It is extremely obvious that Headboards are in again but the question that would not leave my head is why? Is it due to the new and improved designs or due to the functionality they offer?

Even though most of you know what a headboard is i feel the need to resume it in a few words for those who do not. The headboard is a piece of furniture that attaches to the head of the bed, it can be used to retain pillows, provide and secure backing the the bed upon which you relax or just be the focus point of the room.

Today i want to present you some bathroom designs which have the main aim to inspire you when redecorating your own bathroom.

1st Bathroom of this post is presented by Glass Idromassagio and has as focus point an extremely modern bathtub design of their Naked Collection, which was presented this April in Milan. This bathtub features a glass top with a stylish and functional frame, available in many colors for a personalized, eclectic look. Unique and functional designs inspired by water, always with the client in mind is what Glass is all about and their mission is nicely reflected by the Naked tub. A perfect fit for a contemporary bathroom of modern day homeowners.

2nd Bathroom design of this post is presented by Villeroy&Boch and it’s named Subway 2.0. So popular is the Subway line, in fact, that the German bathroom brand took its existing suite (sinks, toilets, shower trays, etc.) and added this new furniture element – under-sink cabinets with straight and curved facades, hanging lockers with blind doors, open shelving, mirrors and various accessories. Available in a choice of finishes including matte and glossy white, petrol blue, glossy black and graphite-finish oak. Rounding out the trendy Subway fixtures, the Subway 2.0 bathroom collection is the perfect finishing touch.

The 3rd choice of this post is Tresham, a modern, eclectic bathroom by Kohler. Bar stools appeared out of the necessity and no one can establish exactly who invented them or how this all started. It is known that the ancestor of today’s barstool is the three-legged wooden chair, which was the most used seating model at that time.

While the “ancestor” bar stools were simple, necessary furniture pieces, nobody expected them to take off to such a popularity. It all started in the 50s and 60s when you could find these tall chairs in almost every bar and restaurant. That’s the period when the materials, sizes, colors and styles started to mix up giving people more and more options from which to choose when purchasing a bar stool.

Nowadays bar stools are an important piece of furniture, used in both residential and commercial environment.

• Metal or Wood?

- the weakest part of a typical chair is the spindles that for them back of the chair and by eliminating that you get a stronger chair – it is said

- due to the back lack these chair are a bit lighter and thus easier to move around

Bar stools that have a back have also the following points in their favor:

- when talking about comfort I can say from my own point of view that bar stools with a back are my favorites. Back support can never be over rated due to the fact that it adds a great touch of comfort to the chair, so great it’s the touch that the backless ones are extremely uncomfortable.

- stools with a back tend to give people a more pleasant, stable and secure sitting experience – especially if we talk about people with mobility issues

- be careful when choosing a backless model because the seating size can be very small, try it out in your space before purchase

All in all when choosing the perfect bar stools be it for your home or for commercial use you have to take into account all of the above and also do not forget that they have to be in harmony with the rest of the décor.
