First of all as we all are in a financial crisis, i think this post is suitable not only for student’s rooms decorations.

There is no lower budget than the one used for this room and still it looks priceless. The designer is a friend of mine, her name is Andra and she is a studying architecture at the moment but between her hobbies you can find interior decorations. She’s pretty good at it as you can see, she has an eye for fashion aswell and i hope we get to see more of her work every week.

Now let’s talk about the pieces of the room. The pictures you can see on the walls were collages of different photos (with friends and/or family) – a good idea, replacing somehow the photo frames, and giving the room a more cozy feeling – printed on hard paper (A3) in a price-range of 0,50- 0,65 euro/piece.

The pattern in the corner between the two walls – green and blue – was made out of colored paper in a price-rang of 0,50-0,55 euro/piece. It’s catchy and adds a nice touch to the room.

For the boxes you can see, she used carton(3mm) at a price-range of 1euro/piece and bamboo serviettes at a price-range of 0,80 euro/piece in which she dressed up the boxes. And let’s not forget about the fresh flowers, which are allways a nice touch in a room.

All in all this is a nice way to add a new touch of freshness to your room quickly and on the budget.

Stay tooned for more projects like this. If you liked it leave a comment and we’ll insist to get more and more innovative projects on or of the budget!

WGS Wall is an awesome room divider designed by Gallotti & Radice.

It isn’t only good looking because of felt covering but also very practical. It could accommodate all magazines and books you’re currently reading or going to read or be used as a displayer of family photographs or something similar. Besides it has good sound absorbing qualities. Under the felt is wooden structure supported by bright stainless steel feet. The felt comes in large variety of colors. This piece is extremly suitable for a modern decorated room, and also for a youngster’s room due to the vivid colors.

Kensington House, By Architects & Designers SHH

SHH took on the Kensington House project with a commission to create a complete interiors scheme for the six storey, 1,114 sq m house. The new-build property is a contemporary take on a Georgian terrace house, set within a classic west London square. The property is comprised of a very generously proportioned reception room, large formal dining room, family room, cinema and pool room, all located on the lower 3 floors. The entire first floor is occupied by the master suite, with the remaining two floors taken up by 5 further bedrooms and en suite bathrooms.

The client’s brief was simple. The house had to suit the needs of an international couple with a large family. As for the look? ‘Cream, off-white and funky’.

The house is entered at upper ground level, which consists of a double volume entrance foyer, a free-floating staircase and the principal reception room. A centrally-located double door ushers visitors into the 66 sq m reception room. The front part of the room is to be used as the formal area and has been treated in a more prescribed manner, whilst the garden side of the room has a less formal feel. The garden is reached via the main staircase and is comprised of a passage leading into the family room at the back and the dining room at the front, both of which can be accessed through the centrally located internal kitchen. The family room is comfortable, warm and airy, decorated using soft creams and natural shades. The dining room, with it`s formal proportions, uses a minimalist Italian table and chairs from Minotti to great effect against the spectacular backdrop of a cross-combed polished plaster fire breast. The jewel in the room is the Hellbob light, designed by Ruhl Haagmans.

The project is named “Vjunok“and and at this project the designer seems to have been inspired by nature and surroundings, as one can see many of the designs which have graphically designed leaves and branches as extensions of the structures. Each design seems to be the perfect fusion of art and design, and is a great way to make a room or a piece of furniture more interesting.

Designed by the Mexican designer Joel Escalona and called “MYDNA” its a unique bookcase design with twist shape. This interesting piece of furniture called “MyDNA” take their influence from that of the DNA strand, as you can see in the pictures attached below. MYDNA can be on several colors and in two presentations: Static MYDNA, which is one single structure perfect for dividing rooms at home and Rotating MYDNA for easy access to the books and more objects you put on it. For those of you who already fall in love with this piece of furniture unfortunately the bookcases are currently looking for a manufacturer to pick up production, and can’t be boght for now.

in the hands of the wise…”

Learning and building an Eco-Dome is an excellent way to prepare for building a larger design such as the 3-bedroom house, because it provides a hands-on learning experience on the essential aspects of Superadobe construction. The Eco-Dome’s size of approximately 400 square feet (interior space), makes it a manageable structure for the first time owner builder. The finished “very small house” is self-contained and can become a small guest house, studio apartment, or be the first step in a cluster design of an Eco-Village of vaults and domes.

Some features of the Eco-Dome include:

Built from local earth-filled Superadobe coils (soil-cement or lime-stabilized earth).

Tree free.

Maximum use of space through alternative options.
The main dome and four niches, depending on local code approval, can function as:
a) main living room, entrance hall, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom (called “bed-womb” because of it’s small, organic form!)
b) living room, entrance hall, and three bed-rooms.
c) living room, entrance hall, two bedrooms, and a bathroom.

Self-contained single unit (potential for a guest house or studio apartment) or double unit (larger family residence).

Can be repeated and joined together to form larger homes and courtyard houses.

Can be built by a team of 3-5 persons.

Designed with the sun, shade and wind in mind for passive cooling and heating.

Wind-scoop can be combined with a rated furnace unit, depending on local code approval. Solar energy and radiant heating may be incorporated.

Interior furniture can be built-in with same material.

British furniture designer/maker Michael Armstrong established Afid Design in 2005, providing a commission based service for bespoke hand-made furniture as well as developing products for manufacture.

T2 Coffee Table

The T2 coffee table is a moulded timber structure that can be produced in a variety of
colours and finishes. The table incorporates elegant curves that work on several planes,
creating a piece that constantly changes form and detail from whichever direction you view it. The piece incorporates an inherent storage space and appears to ‘float’ just above the ground. Available with 3 or 4 ‘legs’. This piece of furniture could add a futuristic and modern touch to your relaxing room, to your living room or any other space you wish, as it is perfect for drinking a coffee or just sustaining some papers/books.

T2A Table

The T2A is a heat formed acrylic table produced in a variety of colours and opacities, from clear to solid. The table incorporates elegant curves that work on several planes, creating a piece that constantly changes form and detail from whichever direction you view it. As the smaller “sister” of T2 Coffee Table, this table is awesome as it can be used not only for an indoor environment but also for any outdoor space you want to add a modern, futuristic touch to. It’s functionality can also vary, it can be a coffee table and a newspaper holder at the same time.

READesign Table

The READesign table is a moulded plywood lozenge structure ‘cut’ into sections and re-assembled with each section slightly offset from the others. The table incorporates an inherent storage area within its architectural form. Originally designed for a touring art exhibition the design is now available to commission. It is a great coffee table or reading table idea, the design the material all of it is awesome! Not to mention that it can be used both in an outdoor and in an indoor environment.

My advice concerning these two awesome tables is to try them and this not only due to the awesome design but also due to the fact that both tables have double functionality and will also add a great touch to any space you decide to add them to.

A Backpack House is a great new way to expand your living space.

Now you can ad an entire room to your apartment. The box is a welded steel cage covered with plywood which is suspended from steel cables anchored to the roof or the facade of the building. Sections of the walls unfold, with the help of hidden magnets, into a desk, shelves, and a platform for reading or sleeping.

It’s an easy and simple way to get more space for your flat. But there are bound to be some issues with the neighbors. Like say the box might be blocking the sunlight of the people living right beneath you.

But all neighbor issues aside I’m sure Backpack House is a great way to improve our apartment living conditions.

Universally used as a mini-backpack, this house adds extra space at the front of each residential building attached.

The height of the top floor of the cube element is approximately 10.50 m, and the total weight of the sculpture is approximately 2.0 t. In conclusion if you want an extra room for your apartment this might be a great idea to take in consideration.
