This bakery is a brand new project for the family that behind the renowned Omonia brand famous for its Greek pastries. It sells pastries and breads prepared on premises in the see-through kitchen.

The design of this store celebrates indulgence… the suspension of one’s everyday grind through the consumption of a sweet delight. The space is soft and warm… sexy and decadent… as chocolate.

Much like the physiognomy of a pastry, this design wants to offer the exciting anticipation of a pastry in-fieri… the liquid concoction, the minced ingredients…  The space shifts organically with the narrative of flavors as patrons taste the succulent delicacies.

The main feature of the 1,000SF interior space is a fluid surface [clad with ¼” chocolate brown Bisazza tiles] which covers the ceiling and the side walls to different heights. This surface warps in bubbles and negotiates a system of 6-inch tubular incandescent light bulbs… and an arrangement of red cedar wood spheres. The epoxy flooring continues to the walls via filleted corners. A shelf and LED strips navigate the transition with the chocolate surface.

The kitchen is exhibited to the public, as it sits simply within a tempered glass box…Therefore, the exquisite level of craftsmanship of the project [with its unforgiving alignments and complex details] is paralleled with the refined artisanship of Omonia’s pastries.

Admin’s opinion

As i could notice on Bluarch’s site the vision of the entire design company – if we can call it like that – is more than a bit futuristic, i guess i can say it with all it’s words it’s the core of FUTURISM regarding interior design, architecture and lightning.

They have a few concepts that would look really nice in real life so i can’t wait for them to be applied.

Regarding the Omonia Bakery as you can notice the main idea consists in a great futurist touch, the interior being based on clean lines with a small touch of minimalism – excepting the ceiling – but that’s an excuse as the room had to have a focus point. So all in all this project is all about mixing futurism with a touch of minimalism and a very appealing focus point. Also we have to appreciate the warmness they were able to give to this space. Cocoon is a shelving system designed by Paola Navone for Ideal Form Team.

It characterized by curved plywood frame of shelves with wengè or white ribbed effect laminate finishes. They can come as with doors as without them. Besides their backs and doors can feature digital printings of rose, leafs, laces and other things. The doors feature steel handles while internal shelves are made of aluminum. These curved elements could be combined with simple floating shelves depending on your storage needs. Thanks to that you can easily create a composition that you like.

These modern shelves are the best option for a modern decorated space, and even for a minimalist decorated room.

Tiuku Standing Clock is designed by Ari Kanerva as a contemporary and minimalist version of a grandfather clock.

It’s made of powder-coated steel and stands 75.75″ high. Such clock could become an elegant focal point of any room in your house. The best place for is an entrance hall but they definitely would look great leaned against the living room’s wall too. At the moment the clock is available only in black and white colors through Arango Design. The price is $295.

Push, designed by Nenad Kostadinov, is a modern curved coffee table isn’t only very stylish piece of furniture but also practical.

It features rotating drawers that could be used to store a lot of stuff like magazines, snacks and other small things. Basically the curved table is constructed of a single “bendywood” piece that’s supported by two cylinders, each of these cylinders being also the axis of rotation for each of the drawers. It is perfect addition to any modern living room with its minimalist and cozy look.

If  some time ago the Kitchen used to be the place where you’d cook and after that all the family gathered around the table for a delicious meal, nowadays things are a bit different as the Kitchen is no more an eating space, being just the cooking space.

This is why you have to pay more attention when decorating it. The comfort offered by a modern and innovative kitchen is important for all the cooks. Things have to be at reach, with a lot of space so you don’t stumble into things and let’s not forget about the appliances which are also very important.

Today, i want to present you a few Kitchen designs that impressed me by Pedini.

A unique program without handles, DUNE is defined by asymmetrically curved base units echoing flowing forms found in nature. Opening is achieved by a groove on the edge of the extra thick 23mm front panel (base units) or by a vertical aluminum profile (tall units). Drawers in the curved units allow Pedini to offer this remarkable design without compromising ergonomics or functionality.

Dune is available in natural or stained eco walnut as well as matte, high gloss and textured lacquer in any color. Aluminum profiles and plinths are available in white, gray, black or matte silver. Complementary glass fronts available with walnut frame and 6 colors of mirror glass.

Q2

With or without handles, wall hanging or floor mounted, the Q2 system offers an extensive selection of standard elements and finishes to fit a wide range of layouts and budgets.

Q2 is available in textured melamine with matching edges, hundreds of laminate colors (matte or glossy) with or without aluminum edges, eco wood with aluminum edges, painted glass, and the entire range of Pedini lacquer colors (matte, textured and high gloss).

Integra

Curved base units, flat fronts with a unique recessed handle or solid 3-piece framed oak fronts create sensuous designs fitting for all settings from traditional to modern.

Integra is available in 7 colors of oak (natural, white, bone, silver grey, medium grey/brown, dark grey and dark brown) as well as matte, textured and high gloss lacquer in any color.

Artika

The original curved kitchen, Artika is characterized by curved base, tall, and wall units in addition to a radius edge detail on both top and bottom of front panels. Opening of the handless fronts is accomplished via a continuous horizontal aluminum “L” profile. The Pedini innovation of drawers in the curved units maintains the uncompromising functionality of this kitchen.

Artika is available in matte or high gloss cherry as well as matte, textured and high gloss lacquer in any color.

Outline

The Outline program is distinguished by two special fronts: a 23mm wood front with thin aluminum striping on all corners and a lacquered front with a series of evenly spaced horizontal grooves carved into the surface. A special matching handle with a fine chrome outline completes the concept.

Outline is available in eco zebrano (matte or high gloss), eco makassar (high gloss), eco teak (matte), and matte, textured and high gloss lacquer in any color.

Magika

Designed using only the most essential building blocks of a great minimalist kitchen, Pedini has created Magika for fast delivery at an appealing price.

Magika is available with handless channel opening via an aluminum profile or with vertical handles. Front finishes include textured melamine with matching edges ( grey oak, dark brown pine, teak, white, red, cream, and dark grey) and direct glossy white lacquer. Aluminum profiles and plinths are available in white, gray, black, and matte silver.
