Architect David Guerra has designed the Hi-lo store in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

This great, innovative project can be of great help for any of you who are looking for designing your Clothing Store in an unique way. This clothing store looks as if it’s made of two different space which brought together make a great whole. The gray area resembles a wonderful dressing area from your own home or from a friend’s home and the red area resembles a royal space designed for relaxation, a coffee, a cake, some tea or even a great book which can be enjoyed there. All in all, this is a great space perfectly designed for all the needs of any client no matter how high standards he has.

The clothing store follows the High and Low style, in a mix of opposites with recognized, young, conceptual and basic brands. The concept extends for the interior architecture, in a contrast of colors, materials and sensations. The front view, in latticework 40x40cm, has a metallic pinky red beam. In the area of clothing exposition, the lightness and romanticism were explored by using the colors white, silver and dry golden. Contrasts between French wallpapers on the screens, the buttoned fabric in the service area and the work in lace-trimmed on the wall, made of Tetra Park boxes by the artist Léo Piló, make the environment gentle for choosing clothes. In the dressing-rooms area, the red and pink colors assume the role of seduction, glamour, passion and sensuality, the transformation of a star. Every star has a stage. Red curtains, buttoned panels, indirect lightning, multiple mirrors, satin sofa, vintage chandelier and bookshelf with stylist feet create a scenario, where the protagonist is the customer.

Recently i have stumbled upon some unique lightning and decoration pieces that i was astonished to see.

Pieces made out of old discs, old cassettes that at this moment for most of us are just an old memory but also paintings – if we can call them this way – made out of old clocks.

These interesting pieces of decor are great for those who do not want to forget old times.

Antonio Di Oronzo, principal of Bluarch, designed the interior of the Omonia Bakery in New York City.

This bakery is a brand new project for the family that behind the renowned Omonia brand famous for its Greek pastries. It sells pastries and breads prepared on premises in the see-through kitchen.

The design of this store celebrates indulgence… the suspension of one’s everyday grind through the consumption of a sweet delight. The space is soft and warm… sexy and decadent… as chocolate.

Much like the physiognomy of a pastry, this design wants to offer the exciting anticipation of a pastry in-fieri… the liquid concoction, the minced ingredients…  The space shifts organically with the narrative of flavors as patrons taste the succulent delicacies.

The main feature of the 1,000SF interior space is a fluid surface [clad with ¼” chocolate brown Bisazza tiles] which covers the ceiling and the side walls to different heights. This surface warps in bubbles and negotiates a system of 6-inch tubular incandescent light bulbs… and an arrangement of red cedar wood spheres. The epoxy flooring continues to the walls via filleted corners. A shelf and LED strips navigate the transition with the chocolate surface.

The kitchen is exhibited to the public, as it sits simply within a tempered glass box…Therefore, the exquisite level of craftsmanship of the project [with its unforgiving alignments and complex details] is paralleled with the refined artisanship of Omonia’s pastries.

Admin’s opinion

As i could notice on Bluarch’s site the vision of the entire design company – if we can call it like that – is more than a bit futuristic, i guess i can say it with all it’s words it’s the core of FUTURISM regarding interior design, architecture and lightning.

They have a few concepts that would look really nice in real life so i can’t wait for them to be applied.

Regarding the Omonia Bakery as you can notice the main idea consists in a great futurist touch, the interior being based on clean lines with a small touch of minimalism – excepting the ceiling – but that’s an excuse as the room had to have a focus point. So all in all this project is all about mixing futurism with a touch of minimalism and a very appealing focus point. Also we have to appreciate the warmness they were able to give to this space. Lieven Musschoot has designed the Pure C bar in Cadzand-Bad, The Netherlands.

Design a restaurant for everyone, a  relaxed atmosphere in which the family is central and parts priority is. It’s a casual bistro atmosphere with lots of light, white interior and nature elements. The whole interior is tailored to the sweeping views from the impressive scenery around the north sea with the dunes. Formerly was the hotel restaurant which dated from the years 1970. In total, Pure C has a capacity of 180 persons.

The space divided into different zones with a flexible organization that allows many different scenarios. Guests have the choice between long tables in black wood trunk for large groups or small tables for two that can be discreetly screened with airy white curtains. Who particularly interested in the surrounding scenery can chose a small table by the window.

The most notable highlights are the large oval sitting island which is manufactured from mdf and lacquered in white. The cocoon effect is accentuated by an elegant white curtains round the perimeter of the cupolas. At night the skylights have a golden shine from the gold-covered with circular discs of light fixtures.

It is consistent with material color and mood contrast played. This gave the most open part of the restaurant, on the sea-side a light grey epoxy floor, compared with this, the middle zone, areas with lounge chairs are in white oak parquet.

The black glass walls define spaces away without losing contact. The bar area was unlike the other areas not white but a black stretch acoustic ceiling. The furniture is all white with shiny brown tones combined. Brown wood tones are complemented by the vintage cognac-colored leather seat covers, front desk and bar. Other atmosphere are the gas fireplace with floating glass, the dark slate of the pilasters, vase objects (atelier vierkant) and lounge furniture from Piet Boon and Max alto.

Italian company Masiero has explored right in its own backyard and come up with this modern Murano lighting line.

The Missia lighting collection features a broad shade and that’s where all the action is. Vibrant red, orange and black glass swirls its way across the diffuser and, when illuminated, the organic waves glow from within. Coordinate your rooms with the matching sconce, chandelier, pendant and ceiling-mounted, floor and tabletop models, or choose one and give your room the statement piece it’s been begging for. A series of organic shapes and forms were reinterpreted to form these beautifully crafted and sustainable pieces. Bringing the role of artisan back into design, the Porcini design represents a spirit of craft and the handmade.

The range consists of two designs, the Porcini Stem, comprised of a standard lamp and table lamp, and the Porcini Canopy, comprised of various sized pendant lamps. Using naturally sustainable materials; Tasmanian Oak, a non-endangered timber species sourced from Australian sustainable forests finished with natural Australian beeswax, and 100% pure new wool upholstery, which is both biodegradable and renewable.

It’s been 11 months since i posted my first article on this blog and i am really proud of what it has become.
