It is extremely obvious that Headboards are in again but the question that would not leave my head is why? Is it due to the new and improved designs or due to the functionality they offer?

Even though most of you know what a headboard is i feel the need to resume it in a few words for those who do not. The headboard is a piece of furniture that attaches to the head of the bed, it can be used to retain pillows, provide and secure backing the the bed upon which you relax or just be the focus point of the room.

As all furniture pieces nowadays, the headboard is available in a wide range of fabric colors, textures and styles. Due to it’s natural properties of durability, leather is one of the top option when choosing headboard material.

Strong, secure and durable, headboards are designed to be easily fitted onto any bed. As the range of headboard styles and materials is so wide, the perfect headboard can almost certainly be found for any bedroom. However the option of having your headboard and bed made at the same time is appealing but you can also have just your headboard crafted to exact personal requirements and specifications.

Being all aware of the fact that the bedroom is the most important room in the home, it leads us to the conclusion that this is the room in your home that needs to be the most comfortable and aesthetically suited to the person using it.

Due to the fact that the bedroom is one of the most important rooms of the house and the need for you to have a comfortable and recently renovated such space is huge i decided to present you a few options for redecorating your Bedroom.

Tween Notte Collection

Contemporary and streamlined, yet elegantly cozy too. Because the bedroom plays such an important role in our daily lives, they strive to offer versatile and contemporary furniture and design solutions. Within the collection, there are quite a few different furniture group models (with names like Edge, Cloud and Loop, to name a few), which can be easily combined and mixed together, while keeping the style coherent. Gautier is a design company founded in 1958. Most of the bedroom designs are simple, sober and elegant, with wooden furniture and stylish carpets to go with it. The color mix goes from mild to fresh, but the overall effect is always pleasing. You will rarely see strong colors – the green and red pillows are an exception, but with a lovely effect.  Flowers and paintings make the interiors lively and also help personalizing every room. Small details and decorative items such as bottles and tea cups really manage to make a difference. The floor lamps and the night stands are also a nice touch.

Pooktre is what i thought when i first saw Laura’s creations.

Laura Spector is one of those artists and designers that creates a really unusual handmade furniture. She is best know for her uniquely lyrical interpretation of the organic form. Among her creations you can find truly amazing wicker furniture made of twigs as for outdoors as for indoors. Each furniture piece is an unique treasure that represents a love of nature and is real object of beauty. They all are made from a vine called Oriental Bittersweet covered with two coats of an oil-based wood preservative and a coat of polyurethane.

She has made a large variety of furniture pieces from english, french and balinese benches to chairs, beds, tables and even lamps.

With such an interesting and innovative design these pieces are suitable for rustic and modern environments at the same time, you just have to know how to combine the pieces with the rest of the decor.

- You can now banish Aunt Agatha’s antique purple vase that he or she forced you to endure in your living room for so long. Look on the bright side – you can let your home be the way that you always wanted!
- Pamper yourself with new sheets and soft furnishings. They don’t have to cost a fortune and will make you feel special and new. New area rugs are a great indulgence. Shag rugs are soft and luxurious and will remind you that you deserve a treat. Putting your feet on its soft pile every time you get up in the morning will remind you that it really is worthwhile getting up in the morning.

Ending a relationship is no fun. But even on the lowest budget, you can still make a difference to your home. Putting your energies into rebuilding and redecorating will help you move on with your life.

When you stay in a hotel or bed and breakfast, what are some of the main things you look for?

You can create the same feeling you look for when you stay away from home. You want comfort and style on a budget and you can get that by decorating your guest room.

The bed is the main attraction in a guest room.

If it doesn’t look appealing, it will probably not be comfortable. You want your guests to feel comfortable and welcome as soon as they open the door so arrange the bedroom to place the bed in a place that is visible from the door. If your mattress is used, purchase some thick bed liners that can help make the bed soft and cushiony. You may want to use a featherbed topper to make the bed extra soft and comfortable.

You want a new bedspread and comforter on your bed so it looks good.

Bed linens must be fresh so it’s important to keep up with the condition of the sheets. Place fresh sheets on the bed as soon as you know that guests are coming. You will need a fitted sheet, top sheet, blanket, extra blankets, and a down comforter. You will also need pillowcases that are ironed. Place area rugs at the bedside so your guest will place their feet on the rug instead of on the cold floor. You can use a bamboo rug so it will be stylish and comfortable.

Everyone has suitcases and luggage when they come to stay, so where do they place them in a guest room?

Have a bench or table that they can place their luggage on. You can get creative for a luggage rack. Just make sure that you have somewhere they can sit their luggage instead of on the bed.

Every guest room needs a chair and a table beside of it.

They may not keep the same hours as every one in the house so they will need a place to sit, relax, read a book, search on the web, or drink a cup of coffee. Use southwestern rugs or floral rugs where guests will site.

Place enough lamps in the room to provide controlled lighting in the room.

With lamps, they can turn on or off the lighting as they need it so there is not a constant glare all the time. Place a bedside lamp on the nightstand so they can turn the lights on and off without getting out of bed.

If you don’t have a closet in the room for close then you will need to purchase a portable closet.

You can find them at a home organization store. Guests need a place to put their clothes, especially if they plan to stay more then overnight.

You will also need to place a small dresser in their room.

Everyone feels more comfortable when you can take your clothes out of the suitcase and place them in a drawer to reduce wrinkles.

Provide a basket that contains pen and paper, tape, a box of tissues, a hair dryer, and some mints.

Your guests will feel welcome and comfortable every time they stay in your home.

Israel-based company Hollandia International subscribes to the latter philosophy: “Contrary to popular belief, our bodies are not designed to sleep on a completely flat surface. In order to get authentic, restorative sleep, our back needs to be slightly elevated for enhanced breathing and our feet should also be slightly elevated for proper circulation. Most importantly, having our upper and lower body slightly elevated alleviates the pressure we often feel in our lower back.”

No, it’s not just for tacky retirees anymore: the tilted mattress is here to stay.

Hollandia International hired superstar designer Karim Rashid to create two different sleep environments. We could call them beds, but that would be underestimating their power and cache. These “beds” are more like stage sets, providing an all-encompassing sensual experience. Hollandia International offers sound advice: “Let’s stay in bed,” and Rashid’s designs do everything in their power to realize that good counsel. The Sphere Bed is an enveloping pod complete with a 32” color television, covered LED canopy-top lights, outside back vanity mirror, and champagne holder. It’s the new bachelor’s retreat (or bachelorette—let’s not be sexist)—a modern-day version of the swinger’s leopard-covered Murphy bed that pops out at just the right moment.

The bed features the Hollandia plush comfort, along with the company’s signature adjustability and massage—packaged in sumptuous fabric (custom-upholstered however your little heart desires). Rashid’s piece transforms the bed into something far greater: “The Sphere brings a whole new dimension to experiential bedroom living.”

Starting with the egg-shape and the appealing metaphoric connotations therein, Thony goes several steps further, infusing Lomme with all the ingredients for a rejuvenative sleep. Taking as cue a two year study into the science of sleep, Lomme shapes the senses of sound (a fully integrated stereo system with iPod dock, the protective sound-damping arc of the shell), sight (notice the iridiscent hue of hidden LEDs, which can be user-tuned to simulate sunset and sunrise), and touch (a massage system integrated into the mattress).

This collection of impressive innovations impressed the judges such that Lomme was awarded the coveted Red Dot Award for Product Design. But from my perspective, these high-tech features are merely icing on the cake: Lomme’s embracing contours alone are sufficient to create the blissful state of suspended animation we call sleep.

This enviable bliss, along with the diurnal delight of rolling out of one’s very own egg each morning, will let you face each day with all the youthful aspect of a newly-hatched chick.

The high headboard of the Buonanotte Valentina bed features curved wooden slats—the edges of the slats containing some of the unbridled enthusiasm of the wood’s sensuous curves. Facing the bed head on, the wooden headboard appears rigid and flat; however, looking at it from any other angle reveals the S curvature of the bed’s headboard. The platform base too plays with a combination of rectilinear and contoured surfaces, from the straight spine hugging the floor to the rectangles with rounded edges that serve as the base in the front and back of the frame. The play here with aesthetic binaries can de dangerous: badly realized, this contradiction can be absurd. But the risk here is averted, the Buonanotte Valentina achieving a balance as precarious and daunting as a tightrope walker.

The bed can be further transformed with an optional covered headboard, wrapping the slats in leather—while still maintaining a wooden frame. It’s like a taut canvas stretched over a well-constructed scaffold, wherein the covering actually calls attention to what lies beneath. And what lies beneath, like everything else produced by Ceccotti, is masterfully built with that attention to detail we’ve come to expect of the Italians. The name tells much of what dreams you may have when sleeping in this bed—dreams foretelling a succession of good nights. If it were music, the Buonanotte Valentina would be reincarnated as the operatic notes of Offenbach’s Barcarolle from Tales of Hoffman—hauntingly yet serenely beautiful.

Casulo

A packed Casulo can be transported and stored at nominal expense by any carrier and shipping agent. Not only can a disassembled Casulo unit be packed with one’s personal items. The Casulo itself is sturdy and thus no additional packaging materials are necessary when it is ready for transport. The Casulo can then either be sent to a prearranged address or delivered directly to one’s flat. Two people can lift, carry, and assemble each piece of furniture within the Casulo. The unit is constructed of durable, long-lasting materials. A Casulo offers a solution for today’s style of life – “Here today – must move tomorrow.”

Each Casulo unit includes all the essential furniture for setting up in a new place: Wardrobe, large desk/table (surface 80 cm by 160 cm / 31.5 inch by 63 inch) with a separate desk cabinet with locking drawers, a revolving, height-adjustable desk chair, two stools, a single bed (200 cm by 80 cm / 78.7 inch by 31.5 inch) and mattress, and a tall set of shelves. The stools and the drawers of the desk cabinet also serve and double as additional storage containers. When disassembled and packed the Casulo becomes a crate measuring 120 cm (47.2 inch) in length, 90 cm (35.4 inch) in height, and 80 cm (31.5 inch) in width. Without any tools whatsoever the Casulo can be packed to the size of the standard European four-way pallet within just seven minutes. The Casulo will even fit into the boot of a Renault Kangoo. When the furniture has been disassembled and prepared for transport the Casulo is safe and sturdy; additional packing materials are not required. An additional feature of the Casulo is that when packed to the size of the European pallet half of its volume becomes space for storage and at least two hundred kilograms (440 pounds) can be safely placed atop the Casulo. Even after many moves the strong materials chosen for the Casulo mean that the unit will never show signs of wear and tear. A variety of ingenious refinements make each Casulo a unified, complete intelligent design providing a unique solution to moving house for an increasingly mobile generation: invisible locks on the desk drawers, a magnetised clothes rack system, safeguards for computer cables and electric wires.
One need no longer bother with arranging the annoying details of moving house for the Casulo can be transported anywhere throughout Germany as a small container crate for 80 Euros or be placed in storage for 10 Euros a month. Though it takes only one person to set up and dismantle the Casulo, two people can do it quite easily and comfortably, thus making a move relatively inexpensive and effortless.
