Crafted by the skilled artisans of Bassano Del Grappa, Italy, the Papillon kitchen is custom made by hand – a true masterpiece worthy of your own gastronomical works of art. The grainy, textural oak doors are painted white and finished with a silver-leaf treatment, and held in place by butterfly hinges. The Island sink, built-in appliances and the organized shelves and cabinets put everything easily at hand when you need it, and out of the way when you don’t. This artisan kitchen is perfectly complemented by this ultra-modern glossy white island and some chic pendant lighting.

This is a too modern and luxurious kitchen, where i’d be afraid to cook in order not to break something or just because i’d be afraid that the cooking result would not be able to rise at the level that this kitchen imposes…

If  some time ago the Kitchen used to be the place where you’d cook and after that all the family gathered around the table for a delicious meal, nowadays things are a bit different as the Kitchen is no more an eating space, being just the cooking space.

This is why you have to pay more attention when decorating it. The comfort offered by a modern and innovative kitchen is important for all the cooks. Things have to be at reach, with a lot of space so you don’t stumble into things and let’s not forget about the appliances which are also very important.

Today, i want to present you a few Kitchen designs that impressed me by Pedini.

Dune

A unique program without handles, DUNE is defined by asymmetrically curved base units echoing flowing forms found in nature. Opening is achieved by a groove on the edge of the extra thick 23mm front panel (base units) or by a vertical aluminum profile (tall units). Drawers in the curved units allow Pedini to offer this remarkable design without compromising ergonomics or functionality.

Dune is available in natural or stained eco walnut as well as matte, high gloss and textured lacquer in any color. Aluminum profiles and plinths are available in white, gray, black or matte silver. Complementary glass fronts available with walnut frame and 6 colors of mirror glass.

Q2

With or without handles, wall hanging or floor mounted, the Q2 system offers an extensive selection of standard elements and finishes to fit a wide range of layouts and budgets.

Q2 is available in textured melamine with matching edges, hundreds of laminate colors (matte or glossy) with or without aluminum edges, eco wood with aluminum edges, painted glass, and the entire range of Pedini lacquer colors (matte, textured and high gloss).

Integra

Curved base units, flat fronts with a unique recessed handle or solid 3-piece framed oak fronts create sensuous designs fitting for all settings from traditional to modern.

Integra is available in 7 colors of oak (natural, white, bone, silver grey, medium grey/brown, dark grey and dark brown) as well as matte, textured and high gloss lacquer in any color.

Artika

The original curved kitchen, Artika is characterized by curved base, tall, and wall units in addition to a radius edge detail on both top and bottom of front panels. Opening of the handless fronts is accomplished via a continuous horizontal aluminum “L” profile. The Pedini innovation of drawers in the curved units maintains the uncompromising functionality of this kitchen.

Artika is available in matte or high gloss cherry as well as matte, textured and high gloss lacquer in any color.

Outline

The Outline program is distinguished by two special fronts: a 23mm wood front with thin aluminum striping on all corners and a lacquered front with a series of evenly spaced horizontal grooves carved into the surface. A special matching handle with a fine chrome outline completes the concept.

Outline is available in eco zebrano (matte or high gloss), eco makassar (high gloss), eco teak (matte), and matte, textured and high gloss lacquer in any color.

Magika

Designed using only the most essential building blocks of a great minimalist kitchen, Pedini has created Magika for fast delivery at an appealing price.

Magika is available with handless channel opening via an aluminum profile or with vertical handles. Front finishes include textured melamine with matching edges ( grey oak, dark brown pine, teak, white, red, cream, and dark grey) and direct glossy white lacquer. Aluminum profiles and plinths are available in white, gray, black, and matte silver.

In the past centuries, cabinets were never part of the kitchen construction, they used to be freestanding structures such as racks, that could be moved easily from place to place.

During the 20^th century, the introduction of small kitchen appliances made kitchen cabinets a necessity, and these became an integral part of the kitchen, no longer being considered a secondary need.

Cabinets were most often handmade from solid wood, they had fine details indicating precisely where a set of cabinetry came from. Each region, where the cabinets where made, had it’s own style and decorative elements. Cabinets managed to be a main feature of the contemporary home.

As time went by, handmade cabinets started to be less, as companies began mass producing cabinetry with cheaper materials and cheaper labor. This is where a division between types of cabinets appeared, a division between quality-made cabinetry and lower grade products.

Lower quality cabinetry might seem like a better deal, as many of these cabinets seem durable and solid. The two forces that ruin poorly made cabinetry are general use and the environment. Humidity, temperature changes and too much weight bends or bows the cabinetry over time. Wood cabinets are lasting and durable against these threats. As wood ages, many types of solid wood cabinets will slightly change over time.

Cherry cabinets will subtly darken over time. Maple cabinets are known for the beautiful and unique grains. Oak is a sturdy wood that has pronounced grains, and oak cabinets may even contain what is called a “pin knot.” Birch has been labeled a “contemporary” wood and accepts paints and stains well. Alderwood is like cherry when stained. This is a medium hardwood that has a close grain. Rubberwood is also known as Plantation Hardwood. The grain is straight, but this type of wood is also known to have unusual markings that create visual interest.

The known disadvantages of solid wood cabinetry have been targeted for years. Many makers of solid wood kitchen cabinets have produced designs that are virtually impervious. The engineering of wood kitchen cabinets today goes through a variety of processes.

Just a few of the common treatments include ultra-violet inhibitors to protect against sun damage, heat catalyzed finishes, hand-painted and rubbed stains. The thick sealants and finishes used today are far more durable and lasting than those in the past.

You are certain of installing a lasting and elegant feature when you choose solid wood cabinetry. Your kitchen cabinets will retain their beauty through the years. Solid wood cabinets are an investment that will provide you with valuable returns as long as you own your home.

Designed by Compact Concepts, the kitchen furniture manages to address space problems in a highly functional and stylish manner, although it only measures 1.8 square meters. It features all the characteristics of an usual kitchen. Integrated with the ability to rotate as much as 180 degrees, the Circle Kitchen is able to provide all items that is being offered from a regular sink, to dishes, a microwave and even a dishwasher. Although we’re totally sold on the idea, such a circled design will cost you between $6,500 and $15,000 to get and that doesn’t even include installation costs.

The Big Chill fridge is equipped with numerous modern features including a temperature management system, automatic moisture control, self-defrost, easy-clean spill-proof glass shelves, an egg bin, optional icemaker and butter compartment. The Big Chill fridge (available in two sizes) is retro in aesthetics alone. The company’s expansion was marked by the introduction of a coordinating retro dishwasher and retro stove.   The American company, Big Chill is based in Boulder, Colorado.  Smeg, an Italian company, also boasts a  50s style refrigerator: more streamlined than the original models, it lacks the authenticity of the chrome trim and stamped metal front.  Different aesthetics; both throwbacks to the same period.

The kitchen is designed in typical Italian style with plenty of bright shades, lots of glossy finishes and yet very modern and minimalistic approach towards the shelves and the space available. Despite its bright appearance, it is highly organized, can be altered to suit various needs and from what we understand, you can have your picnic lunch in it by just changing the flooring for the occasion! Spacious and sleek, 36E8 is a pretty modern and unique kitchen.
