Shelves, shelves, shelves… everywhere…

The concept of “going green” is no longer privy to a select few as more and more designers are showing a predilection towards environmental issues.

The egg is, of course, richly symbolic, connoting birth, warmth, shelter, sustenance, and a twilight state. This last is especially apropos to LOMME (light over mind matter evolution), the egg-shaped bed by Günther Thöny’s Thony Projekt. This ambitious piece aspires to none other than the re-invention of sleep.

When Dan Heinfeld, president of LPA Architects in Irvine, set out to build his family’s home, he wanted to practice what his firm preached, which is to build green–and he wanted to do it at no added cost.
