Bathroom Inspiration #2

Posted under bathroom

This bathroom could quite possibly be the most minimalist design you will ever see. It is functional, yes, but there is something to be said about letting a bathroom be a bathroom, and letting the few pieces stand strong and bold. The ceramic pieces by GSC Ceramic Design come in a variety of colors and shapes and are themselves the focus of attention.

Jaime Bouzaglo, born in Spanish Morocco but raised in Barcelona, brings a touch of Moorish flair to this roster: he designed a palace and airport boutique in Casablanca and was the principal designer for the “Cerruti 1881” clothing line in 17 cities including Kobe, Hong Kong, London, and Madrid. One look at his La Diva chair and you’ll sense the presence of diverse influences: the Spanish and the Moorish, the Baroque and Romanesque, the grandeur of Gaudí and the whimsy of Miró.

Talking Plant

Posted under Gardening

Ever wished that your plant could talk to you or atleast express their feelings?
Thanks to designer Junyi Heo plants will be able to do just that.

Oriental Furniture

Posted under Furniture

Inspired by the fine, luxurious and yet functional style of car dashboards of bygone ages, Yomei demonstrates attention to detail. The soft Yomei buffalo leather enfolds the cubic shapes while the proportions contrast against the sensual material.
The results are elements for low boards, flexible sideboards and display cabinets, all trimmed in ‘made-to-measure’ Yomei buffalo leather. Perfect design is reflected in the detail solutions, allowing the elements to be combined in different ways, depending on your requirements.

Low Cost Social Housing - Slovenia, Izola

Posted under architecture

This stunning seaside structure bursts free from the all-too-frequently stale stock of public housing projects with its dynamic array of brightly shaded cells. Taking its cues from the modular honeycomb clusters of a beehive, the complex was constructed by Ofis as a low-income residence for young families and couples in the industrial district of Izola on the Slovenian coast. The striking development boasts beautiful views and makes smart use of solar shading and natural ventilation to regulate its interiors all year-round. Textile elements fixed on the front of the balconies block direct sunlight and accumulate “air buffer” zone.
